Fees and Terms — Central London Psychotherapy
Deciding to begin psychotherapy is rarely a straightforward moment. By the time most people make contact, something has been building for a while — a difficulty that hasn’t resolved on its own, a pattern that keeps returning, a sense that the way things are cannot continue. The practical question of fees and availability matters, but it often comes second to a more important one: whether this is a practice where serious work can happen.
The Central London practice offers the same depth of clinical engagement as the Harley Street consultation rooms — integrative psychotherapy, Jungian analysis, EMDR, and specialist work in eating disorders, addiction, and trauma — in a location accessible from across the city.
The Initial Consultation
The first step is an initial consultation — a fifty-minute session in which you can speak about what has brought you here, ask any questions you have, and get a sense of whether this feels like the right place to continue. There is no obligation to proceed, and nothing is assumed from attending. The consultation is also an opportunity for Dr Jacquet to understand your situation clearly and determine which approach would best serve your particular presentation.
Fees
Sessions are fifty minutes in length. Fees are discussed directly at the initial consultation and are set in accordance with the specialist nature of the work and the length of clinical experience brought to it. The practice does not operate a sliding scale, but the initial consultation provides an opportunity to discuss any practical considerations before a commitment is made.
Payment is due at the end of each session. The practice accepts bank transfer and major credit and debit cards. Receipts are provided for all sessions and can be submitted to insurance providers where relevant, though the practice does not bill insurers directly.
Frequency and Commitment
Weekly sessions are standard and recommended for most presentations. The regularity of the therapeutic frame — meeting at the same time each week — is not incidental to the work; it is part of how depth psychotherapy functions. For those engaged in more intensive analytical work, twice-weekly sessions are available. The appropriate frequency is discussed at assessment and reviewed as the work develops.
Cancellation Policy
Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged in full. This policy exists not as a financial mechanism but because the therapeutic hour is held open specifically for you — it cannot be offered to anyone else at short notice, and the regularity of attendance is part of what makes the work effective. Exceptions are made in genuine emergencies, discussed at the time.
Waiting List
This is a private practice. There is no waiting list. Once an initial consultation has taken place and both parties wish to proceed, regular sessions can usually begin within one to two weeks, sometimes sooner depending on availability.
