Addiction Therapy in Paris — English Speaking
Addiction in Paris, as in any city where professional and social life are densely interwoven, often develops in a context where it is not immediately visible as a problem. The long working dinners, the culture of wine, the professional socialising that blurs into something more compulsive — none of it announces itself as addiction until the line has already been crossed, quietly and then suddenly.
This practice offers specialist addiction therapy in Paris for English-speaking clients — online and in person. The work is depth-oriented and integrative: not primarily concerned with managing behaviour but with understanding what the addiction is doing, what it is managing, and what would need to change for it to no longer be necessary.
Specialist Credentials
Dr Jacquet trained at Hope-One Residential Treatment Centre in Belgium and holds his International Diploma in Addiction Counselling from the Hazelden Foundation. He is an integrative psychotherapist and Jungian analyst with 25 years of experience, based at Harley Street, London. He works with alcohol and drug addiction, gambling, sex and pornography addiction, and the broader category of behavioural compulsions in which a substance or activity has come to regulate a state the person cannot otherwise tolerate.
Co-occurring Presentations
Addiction rarely arrives alone. Depression, anxiety, trauma and eating disorders co-occur frequently — and are addressed together in this practice rather than in sequence. Where the addiction has been serving as a solution to an underlying difficulty, that difficulty is part of the clinical picture.
